Emmanuel is a thriving gathering of people joyfully committed to Jesus Christ.

In addition to lively Gospel preaching, stirring music, Christ-centered Scripture-based learning, and a relaxed blended worship style, Emmanuel is known for its high-quality preschool (in operation for over 40 years), extensive ministry to kids, spirited youth group, participation in a local Community Meals program and an "open-door" policy which makes it a frequent meeting place for groups within the neighborhood.

Emmanuel is located at 360 Princeton (at Garford) in the intimate “Eastern Heights” section of Elyria, one block east and three blocks south of EMH Regional Health center. Click here to see our location on a map.

Like the community we serve, we are “mid-sized” (about 400 baptized) and have a fairly even mix of young, mature, and old individuals and families. As one person put it: “Emmanuel is small enough to know people by their names and yet large enough to always be meeting someone new.”

Emmanuel is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the fifth largest church body in the United States.
