Jesus has a special love for children and insists that they should come to him.
- Worship: We encourage parents to bring all children from infant on up with them to worship. Even as an infant, a child begins to absorb the “atmosphere” of the Christian faith. Click here for some “tips” on how to include children in worship and click here for some tips on how introduce kids to our new hymnal.
- Family Room & Nursery: Parents who need a place of retreat for their young children may use either the lounge (family room) adjacent to the worship area or a self-service nursery area in Classroom Four downstairs and to the right.
- Children's Sermon: Often the pastor includes a children's sermon. If a child is shy or hesitant, parents are encouraged to come down and sit around the pastor with their child, too. These sermons are for everyone.
- Children's Choir: A children's choir for children of elementary school age sings about once a month from October to May. It is lovingly called “Joyful Noise!” Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.
- Changing Station: There is an infant changing station in the bathroom located at the main entrance off the parking lot.
- Sunday School: Sunday School is deliberately put between our two services so that children can attend both worship and Sunday School classes for worship is part of their learning too. To have your children come with you to worship says that Jesus welcomes them also in this special place.
- Borrowing Bookshelf: In the lower elevator lobby (near the preschool) is a “Borrowing Bookshelf” that houses books of interest to children. Any of these is very appropriate to bring with you to worship. Take them home and return with them the following week.
- Activity Bags: On a short “coat-rack type tree” hang Activity Bags for children. They include biblical coloring pages, crayons, books and other quiet activities. They are meant for use in the pews. Children under age 99 only please.
